Unfortunately, traveling to distant countries was no longer a matter during the pandemic. Photography has always been a medium for me to discover new and unknown things in distant worlds and capture them in my pictures. The limited travel opportunities have led me to focus more on things in my surroundings, which has greatly increased my passion for my home, the Ruhr area. Since spring 2020, I have been passionately photographing the industrial heritage sites, slag heaps and lost places of the Ruhr metropolis.
The Ruhrpott, as it was called by its inhabitants in the days of mining, is no longer gray, but has grown into “the metropolis for industrial culture” in Germany. If you are just as enthusiastic about the history of the Ruhr region and the unique photo motifs of the industrial culture and lost places located here, then join me on one of my Lost Place Photo Tour through the Ruhr metropolis.
The Ruhr Area has been undergoing constant change since the end of the German coal mining industry in September 2018 and has established itself in recent years as ‘the metropolis of industrial culture in Germany ... Read more
